When first navigating this area, Dr Elaine Garvican (a veterinary surgeon with a PhD, and mum of two girls) was shocked and distressed by the wealth of misinformation surrounding the issue of cranial asymmetry in infants, and how this is presented to parents. In addition, she was angered by the baseless claims made for the many dangerous pillows and positioners on sale, by companies playing on parental guilt.

On meeting Dr Gary Rogers, Elaine realised that the solution she was looking for existed, but that sourcing it from the United States often meant extra expense, delays and logistical difficulties for already stretched parents.
