What is the difference between the 2.0 and 2.0Plus?
The Perfect Noggin 2.0 is supplied with 4 foam layers (labelled 1 to 4). This will fit a head circumference of 33 cm (13 inches) to 48 cm (19 inches). This range is appropriate for the majority of babies.
The Perfect Noggin 2.0Plus includes an additional 2 foam layers (labelled A and B). These layers are smaller, starting at a head circumference of only 28 cm (11 inches). The 2.0Plus is designed for premature or very tiny babies, or those who have developed significant scaphocephaly (a longer, thinner head).
Can I purchase additional or replacement layers?
If you have purchased a standard 2.0 and subsequently discovered you require layers A and B, please contact Customer Services as these can usually be ordered separately.
If you mislay or damage a layer and require a replacement, please contact Customer Services. We usually have some replacement layers in stock, but we cannot guarantee to have the layer you need. Please remember that all larger layers must be kept underneath the layer you are using. For example, if using layer 2, layers 3 and 4 must be nested beneath layer 2. You cannot omit a lost or damaged layer from the stack.
What is a Blemished model?
From time to time, we receive units from the factory which have suffered surface, cosmetic damage to one or more foam layer during manufacturing. This damage does not affect function, and in most cases is covered by the cotton cover when in use. However, since they do not meet our high product standards in appearance, we offer these for sale at a discounted rate.
In addition, we occasionally receive returns within our Refund policy. These units may have been used or tried for a short time before being returned. They are then fully inspected, cleaned and may subsequently be offered for resale at a discounted rate.
Is The Perfect Noggin suitable for newborns?
Many people have successfully used the Perfect Noggin from birth. In general, we advise waiting until your baby is at least 6 weeks old, before starting. The first 6 weeks involves a lot of change for you, your baby and the rest of your family, and it is fine to wait a while to adjust to the new arrival before starting something new. In addition, you may wish to use this time to observe your baby for a head turning preference (torticollis).
Remember that the majority of babies do not flatten, so not every baby needs the Perfect Noggin. If you do wish to start immediately, make sure the fit remains snug – parents seem to have a greater tendency to oversize the cup in newborn babies.
Flat beds make flat heads.
Choose a contoured sleep surface that supports a naturally round head.
